The two PSA classes got together today to do a farm walk and project update.
Here is the whole group out by the goat pasture.

Circling up near the Medicinal Herb Garden
before the farm walk.

Stephanie explained her research and plans for a water catchment system.

First Stop: The Orchard and Nursery where
Jeb, Scott and Mara explained what was going on there.

Next stop: Fungi Town where Logan showed us the mushroom patch. Still too cold to be able to tell if anything will happen there.

Professor Steve Scheuerell PhD, testing the electric fence. You can't be too careful with goats. If they got out they could do some crop damage.

Ryan, out at the goat pasture giving us the plans for the goats.

Taking a look at the new orchard.

Liam details his idea for an herbal tea trial in underutilized areas of the farm. A good idea.

The Bee Queens, Shannon and Jeannette explaining the future of the bees on the farm. First priority is to build this hive into a healthy, thriving swarm and then expand the hives. This assumes the incoming PSA students are interested in bees.
Matt (not pictured) also talked about Mason bees and their habitat.

Daniel and Josh are doing grain feed trials with the chickens to see how they do on grain we could grow ourselves. Closing the feed store loop eventually.

New PSA member, Alicia. Such a good student.

Finishing in the farm work room where Tyler passed along his findings on getting draft animals on the farm instead of using tractors and Melissa and Rachel went over their trials and successes with food preservation methods.

Today a project we started last Fall came to a fun finish. The tulips did really well and when word got out the orders started coming in.
